Saw some Tom’s-style knockoff shoes at Charlotte Russe.

And it’s really been bothering me. These are clearly copies inspired by Tom’s. I mean, talk about defeating the original purpose of the campaign. Tom’s is a company built on charity and global awareness. The shoes were made intentionally simple and not overly trendy so that the message behind them would be what counted, not the style. But when there is popularity, trendiness follows, often to a fault. Buying Tom’s knockoffs at Charlotte Russe is so ridiculous and consumerist, it almost blows my mind. Educate yourself, pay an extra $20 for the real thing so that somebody who wouldn’t otherwise have had shoes gets a pair.
